About the Journal
Dear Readers and Authors,
Three years ago, the academic journal Forum Islamic-Theological Studies launched its inaugural issue. Since then, five editions have been published, featuring high-quality contributions in German and English (utilizing a double-blind review process) that offer diverse thematic insights. The feedback on this young journal has been consistently positive and encouraging.
As we approach the upcoming year, we have decided to embark on new paths. The most significant change is that, starting in 2025, Forum Islamic-Theological Studies will be published exclusively online and in an open-access format. This move aims to further develop the journal, increase its visibility, reach, and impact, and provide greater flexibility as a publication medium.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our previous publisher, Ergon, for the successful collaboration in publishing the journal, which has significantly contributed to the establishment and professionalization of Islamic-Theological Studies as a discipline, and for the seamless transition during this realignment.
We look forward to your continued interest in Forum Islamic-Theological Studies—available in its new online format from 2025.
